The Vertical Learning Curve

Or how to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks

Remember : Make sure you don't have an uncategorised post. Have a look at your categories on your front page, can you see 'uncategorised'? Go back and edit that post to uncheck the uncategorised box. If you can't find a category to suit that post, make another category called 'Random Thoughts' or whatever takes your fancy

To create Categories, go to your dashboard

Posts - Categories

When you open the categories link you can see where to add a new category - and if you want to make a 'child' category.

Let's have a look at a working WordPress with a screenshot of the categories page on Granny's website

Note - Parent and Child Categories

She has one Category called Green Granny and 4 categories under that 'Parent' Green Granny category. When she writes a new post on any of those 4 'child' categories they will appear on her site under the category 'Green Granny'. Same with her parent category 'Hints and Homilies'.
